How we verify listings
Every listing starts from official state licensing records. We don't accept payment to change rankings or license facts.
Where the data comes from
Texas listings come from the Texas Department of Insurance State Fire Marshal's Office licensee lookup. The state registers fire alarm (ACR), fire extinguisher (ECR, HCR) and fire sprinkler (SCR) companies separately. We merge each company's registrations and branch offices into one profile.
The current dataset has 1,810 companies with a Texas location and was retrieved on October 24, 2026.
How often it updates
We re-pull the state records on a regular schedule, and every page shows the date it was last verified. Registrations that expire, or that the state stops showing (for example, when a company's required insurance is not on file), drop out of the directory on the next refresh.
What we don't do
- We don't publish ratings or "best of" rankings we can't source. Lists are alphabetical.
- We don't sell placement that changes license facts. Paid profiles, when offered, will be labeled "Featured."
- We don't guess at services. Services shown are the ones a company is registered for.
Using our data
Everything on the site is available in machine-readable form:
- /api/v1/index.json: dataset metadata and endpoints
- /api/v1/providers.json: the full dataset
/api/v1/providers/{slug}.json: one company- Add
index.mdto any directory page URL for a markdown version - /llms.txt: a guide for AI assistants
